Greetings, I am so amazed to see how wrong I've been, learning from the wrong people. Thank you Master Chris, I'm learning so much in these few videos.

That is exactly what was going on. I was much shallower than 20 degrees. Once I raised the cutting angle to approx. 20 degrees, it sharpens beautifully. Thanks!

Zachary - Hard to say without seeing the tool but my guess would be that you have too shallow a cutting angle on the bevels and thus the edges are weak. Try a steeper angle? You could get a cardboard template with 20 degrees and see how you compare with that.

Hi Chris, I have been working on a V-tool, and have been having an issue where the side bevels become jagged, instead of having a smooth cutting edge. I have sharpened many gouges successfully, and this is the first time I have tried a v-tool. I'm not really sure what is going on.
