Project Owner: WILLIAM SOLBERG
Type of Wood: “Somewhere"
Finish: African Mahogany
Dimensions: Penetrating epoxy, automotive urethane and two part clear coat
Description:
“Somewhere” celebrates a show tune that Judy Garland made famous: “Over The Rainbow.” The line “….Somewhere, over the Rainbow, Bluebirds Fly” The Bluebird was first modeled in wet clay and added as separate element. The most interesting thing for me is in the finish: Smith’s Penetrating Epoxy, followed by auto primer, several coats of matte finish automotive urethane, and finally matte spray two part clear coat. This process is faster than using enamel, which is the standard choice for exterior-placed projects. Lettering in 23.75 leaf gold.
