Description:
I’ve never carved mango wood before. It was really interesting - very dense and oily. This image is from a carving in Lord Bute’s bedchamber in Cardiff Castle. It’s one of 3 I love. I shall be attempting a blackberry panel soon, also from the bed chamber. I used Chris’s oak leaves and acorns appliqué video guidance to shape the leaves. I wanted the panel to have good movement and shape
