Description:
This indigenous (Huron) proverb has been a source of inspiration to me and lead me to create & carve this piece over a 5 month period. I see these background mountains and trees every day. Birch is a very hard wood requiring considerable mallet work which I found to be quite different (and challenging) from normal hand tooling. I also found lettering to be quite stressful - requiring considerable detail and patience which I sometimes lack!
