DeWalt gloves on a book

Project Owner: Robert Hornback
Type of Wood: Bass
Finish: Boiled Linseed Oil
Dimensions: 9.75" X 7.76" X 2.5"

Description:

I used a lemon yellow wood dye for the gloves. I used a cherry Danish oil for the book cover. I used an acrylic white for the page edges. I sealed it all with boiled linseed oil to tone down the color and to bring out the wood grain. I chose a piece of basswood with a visible grain. The label is wood burned. The gloves look very much like the real model. I am pleased with it. I am a 74 year old retired United Methodist pastor. I live in Winter Haven, Florida with my wife Joyce and our dog Petey. I have been carving on and off as a hobby for many years. I have other interests as well. I play trumpet in a concert band, I repair antique dolls and I fill in at our church when needed. I am a founding member of the Chain-o-lakes woodcarving club
