Description:
I've been carving for several years but had only tried oak or lime, I wanted to try another wood type, and a piece of cedar wood became available to me. I also wanted to try some decorative work, having borrowed a book by Gibbons. This piece of wood proved enjoyable to carve but I had to be aware of the grain direction, as it splintered if I got it wrong. So carving curves often required me to either move the wood around a lot or carve 'left-handedly'
