Relief Lettered Beer Caddy

Poke around YouTube and you can find quite a few designs for wooden beer caddies ('totes'), but you'll not see anything hand-carved and so good-looking as this one!

The caddy itself involves simple woodworking - no joints! - and you carve side pieces before assembly. If you have done any relief carving at all, the lettering is well within your reach. We've included the working notes for building the caddy and two different fonts that lend themselves well to raised lettering. Oh yes, and very different ways of carving the letters on either side...

The results are terrific and I think you'll find the project both fun to make and really fun to use. We port ours around frequently, always to the amusement of our friends and family.
