8 Shell part 1

The shell is quite tricky to get right because of the perspetive. The snail is a relief carving and so, by definition, the depth dimension is reduced; which means that the circular nature of the helix is compressed into an oval.

Ann - Yes, you've got it.The principle is to completely remove the coarser scratches with finer ones before moving on. It's also the quickest way to work in the long run...

Chris, does one follow with rasping the same principles as with sanding?
