7 Details and Finishing

Acorns are shiny and hard like eggs, so here is a perfect place for fine sanding. The leaves, on the other hand, have more surface 'character' and can be left straight from the chisel.

I used punches to texture the acorn cup and add accents by deepening tight shadows, and since completing this carving, I have waxed the leaves and acorns.
