2 Tools

Tools for working clay are cheap and readily available. Use your hands for as long as you can, then find something that will do the job better. The important thing, as with carving, is to build up your tool kit on the basis of need.

In this lesson I'll give you lots of suggestions. It's easy to make simple wooden modelling tools and below, for members only, is a download below on the tools I've made and use all the time.

Henk - I've had the turntable for many years now and can't remember where I got it, I'm afraid. I've had a quick look for one online without success, which surprised me. The locking part is something I don't actually use when modelling, it just happened to be there, and I wouldn't be looking for the function. The turntable hardly moves as you work the clay. So, bottom line: a turntable without the lock would be fine.

Hi Chris

In your video "Modelling in Clay" you suggest the use of a turntable. Your turntable is lockable. I looked everywhere, but can't find this particular model. Where can I buy this.
