Chris & Carrie

Three Hares a Spinning

Project Owner: Bradley Apelgren
Type of Wood: African Teak
Finish: Boiled Linseed Oil
Dimensions: 9" x 9"

Description:

A friend gave me this very old solid African Teak board and for years I have wondered how I could do it justice. So I decided to carve Chris’ latest project on it and it came out beautifully. It may be the lid of a box I am planning. Teak is a very hard wood and it certainly knows how to show you who’s boss if you get the grain direction wrong. But it shines when you carve it and it looks stunning when finished. This project was done by a carver with less than 12 months experience.
