Relief Barn Scene

Project Owner: Derrick Thacker
Type of Wood: Basswood
Finish: Beeswax
Dimensions: 12" x 8" x 2.5"

Description:

The inspiration for this project was a pattern of a barn in a Woodcarving Illustrated issue along with Chris's relief carved tree. I had already copied the tree project and thought it would be fun to incorporate that technique in a relief scene. The scene was carved in three pieces (layers) with the barn in the back, and the tree in the foreground. I thought the tree could have turned out better, but that was due to my poor drawing/design to begin with. A fun project!
