Chris & Carrie

peas and grapes

Project Owner: Wynne Lee
Type of Wood: unknown - pine?
Finish: wipe-on poly
Dimensions: 1/2" deep X 5" wide X 14" long

Description:

I did this as an exercise in carving 'small round things close together' since that's something I'd never done before. It also gave me more experience at taking down the background and trying to get it to look nice. I used a piece of scrap wood. The hardest part was getting the little rough bits reasonably smooth (rifflers, curved knife & sandpaper), esp. with the peas in the pod, which I'd given slanted sides. My husband liked it enough to hang it up on one of our kitchen cabinets.
