Description:
I was asked to carve a hare by my partner, who did some basic sketches from which I created the working templates. The carving techniques were based on the mouse door wedge project. A neighbour gifted me a rotting old oak beam which was destined for his log burner, but once it was trimmed it proved to be a beautiful wood to carve. I created a couple of smaller prototypes in jelutong before tackling the oak and creating this final piece.
