We love showcasing our members carvings; after all, getting people to carve is what Woodcarving Workshops is all about! In the gallery you’ll see a wide range of carvings, from novice to advanced; each one the result of time and effort, inspiration and dedication. We value them all!

Project Owner: Peter Murray
Type of Wood: Spanish Evergreen Oak
Finish: Teak Oil
Wood for this carving is from a branch which fell down during high winds 3 years ago. I left it outside to dry. This wood is very hard, 20 minutes of carving not just dulled the gouge but chipped it too. I had to use the mallet, I could not remove wood without it. I like the colour and grain but it is hard work for such a small project.
This project was done by a carver with less than 12 months experience.
